The Best of New York Fashion Week Fall 2013 RTW

Alas fashion week season is here again, and although I missed the hype surrounding NYFW doesn't mean I can't round up my favorites. After all, the hype never really ends.

Alice + Olivia

I love the variety of this collection. It was able to incorporate trends and prints of previous seasons and transformed those into fall wear. The individual pieces were beautiful and I can't help but think of how many ways I can mix and match them. My favorite would have to be the dresses! :)

Anna Sui

This is probably my favorite collection from all of New York this season. I honestly wanted every piece! If Gossip Girl were being re-made or revived, I can totally imagine Eric Daman dressing characters with these clothes. The colors were rich and the pattern youthful with the right touch of uptight.

Badgley Mischka

What I love about this collection is, without doubt, the dresses. The bottom left dress at the picture below is probably my must have dress of fashion week so far. It is flowy, gorgeous, and effortless with the right dash of mysteriously sexy.

Barbara Tfank

The collection is a little bit too old for me, but I can't help but still love it! The cuts may be conservative but the patterns and color are are interesting enough to make up for it.

Juicy Couture

I guess it goes without saying that I love dresses. I rarely wear pants because I feel constricted in them, thus my go to clothing is really a comfortable, chic dress and I just take it from there. Juicy Couture is always young and trendy, perfect for me.

Carlos Miele

I loved this collection primarily for the richness of the colors used. It is what made the collection stand out for me.

To be continued...

Yup, there will be a part two, or maybe a part three. New York Fashion Week is participated by a lot of great designers and I didn't want to constrain myself into choosing only a few collections, I actually wanted to share with you all collections I liked. So bear with me, and look out for the second part tomorrow!

What is your favorite NYFW collection? :)

London Fashion Week 2013 Street Style

Oh British fashion, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I have always admired brit girls for they seem to always be enshrouded with a cloud of mystery that makes you want to know everything about them. If that even makes sense, haha. I find them always quirky,  interesting, and never boring. BTW, these are my favorite street style from the London Fashion Week :)

First of all, I am so sad to have missed the NYFW hype. Things at uni had been crazy! Anyway, I just wanted to post my favorite NYFW street style. Enjoy! :)

P.S. Remember when I told you guys that I'd like a puppy for Christmas? I'm finally getting one in April! :)

Prom Outfit Ideas

I vaguely remember my own prom, what I remember better is the after prom party I had with my friends which was the first time I get to stay up with them overnight. Memories aside, prom season is here once again and I still get that excited feeling whenever February rolls around. Cupid's month makes me feel happy and giddy and, for lack of a better English word, kilig.

I divided it into five themes that I thought was common for prom nights: conservative, romantic, rock and roll, vintage, and casino night.

Some thoughts about love.

Lao Tzu said loving someone deeply gives you courage, but there comes a time in every woman’s life when the love they do have gives them doubts. How can you really differentiate between the saying of I love yous and the doing so? Today I got to thinking about my own relationship and I realized, it does not give me courage anymore. It’s habitual and it’s comfortable yet I have invested too much in it. So I stay. Not because the stocks are high, but because the stocks are stable. I wonder, when it comes to love, is comfortable worth fighting for?

Sometimes, when I'm feeling down I channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw. Hence, this post. Don't worry! I'm not going all nega on you :) I just needed to vent and write about things, but I'll be going back to regular programming starting...now :)

The Carrie Diaries Premieres

I have watched and watched and watched Sex and the City (Yes, again and again!) and I don't think I'll ever get tired of Carrie's voice-overs, outfits and perfect posse. Now, the CW is bringing us a new chance to look at Carrie Bradshaw: as a young teenager, going to high school in the 80s and having her first love. I actually have read the book, The Carrie Diaries way  and loved it. So I don't even really need to explain why I am looking forward to this show.

Playing the young Carrie is Anna Sophia Robb, who I agree is the best person for the job. I first loved her in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory then I saw Because of Winn Dixie and that's when I became a fan. Check this article about her on Teen Vogue!

Of course, Carrie cannot be spoken of without mentioning what she's wearing.
Hailing a cab like a true New Yorker

The Carrie Bradshaw we know is never without an entertaining posse.
Meet Walt, Maggie, and Mouse.
Dressed for a night out

We also get to see Carrie take her first steps in the fields of love.
Here's Carrie with dreamy Sebastian Kidd. (More importantly, check out her bag!)

What is high school without mean girls?
Meet Donna.
It's exciting to see Carrie as a young high school student, making sense of the world of fashion, relationships and New York! I have known and loved Carrie Bradshaw the 30-something New York Star Columnist, Manhattan girl, Manolo lover... I can't wait to know Carrie Bradshaw young, naive, and meeting Manhattan for the first time.

Every inch true Carrie Bradshaw

Have you watched the first episode? What do you think? No spoilers though! I'll only be able to watch it this weekend. I'm packed with school works, huhu.
